The Lesson From Purim

By zevi770 · February 23, 2013

Purim is happening today – as we speak, hundreds of millions of Muslims – entire nations – unbelievably in the same geography as Purim, Iran and others – have nothing better to do, than like their ancestor or forerunner Haman, plot constantly how to annihilate God forbid, all Jews!

One simply needs to think – what could possibly possess Haman, a man who has it all, supportive wife, more money than the king – which is how he became powerful – Prime Minister of the SuperPower etc. etc. so instead of enjoying his good luck, should feel like he has nothing, as long as Jews exist!

The answer of course is, that two things are necessary for anti-semitism to destroy the life of the hater – arrogance, two, lack of gratitude which leads to jealousy!

As Haman considered himself superior to Mordechai, he couldn’t stand the fact that Mordechai wouldn’t bow down to him and his jealousy over Mordechai’s inner dignity, for antisemites inside feel crappy, caused him to hate, and once hate arrives love and joy dissipates like a whiff of smoke, and the person only becomes obsessed with destruction!

This is the exact same psychological mechanism infecting hundreds of millions of muslims as well as elitists around the world – as they perceive themselves either religiously or based on position – status – to be superior to Jews, it bugs them to now have to see the inner dignity Jews possess (for good people have inner love – self – respect) hence the virus of jealous hatred enters and they can think of nothing else!

However, the antidote, believe it or not is for good people to be grateful, for we too God forbid could become them had the circumstances facilitated it but even they as all people can change for the grateful person is a humble person and the humble person is not a jealous person!
