The lesson from a heater

As there are no central heaters in South Africa, contraptions like this are used – but the person in charge of the gas container for this heater, just came running over, as the fire went out; so he went to close the valve releasing the gas to the top part which gets the fire – I asked him – “why did you run to shut it off?” – “well, if just gas escapes, it begins to reek” – ah – there is a profound lesson we realized – a Yid not passionate about Yiddeshkeit: God, Rebbe, Moshaich begins to reek!
