The only religion or philosophical system, including within Judaism, which fulfils the aim of making people kind and not mean, which of course, is in any event our natural disposition; but the problem is our ego creates expectations, and we get upset and angry when they get ruined by others (amongst the general problem of the Yetzer Hara etc.) is the Rebbes approach to Judaism – which is the classical approach, but has been forgotten in the modern selfish “me” age – namely, we are all created as the Mishnah teaches, to serve God; to serve God means obviously to adhere to the Torah and Mitzvos, but also to continuously grow – and if we all need to continuously grow, than none of us are perfect, though neither are we imperfect – the key result is, we are balanced, we have an identity to be proud of, but not an ego filled with haughtiness, hence evil etc.
