The Kabbalist who taught us most about souls, was the Ari-zal, and he writes, as the Alter Rebbe quotes in Tanya, basically two types of (Jewish) souls come into our universe – those involved in the study of Torah, and those involved in business / charity, and as the Rebbe teaches, those who study Torah, are only here to inspire those who are in business / charity!
