The Infinite Union

Is it possible?

Nah!

No Way!!!

Bridging cultures!

Removing infinite separation?!!!

But, says the Rebbe, the point of true infinity (versus fixed infinity) is that true infinity has no limitations, not even the limitations of infinity.

You see, we are finite, God is infinite; so the basic assumption of mankind is, that if you want to see God, you need to remove yourself from the finite to enter into the infinite, hence people, mystics, spiritualists removing themselves from the physical in order to feel the spirit.

But what if – yes what if? – what if?, what, what if??? true infinity could come down into the physical!?!?

As the famous song goes, “if God were one of us?!”

Obviously God cannot be limited, hence a mortal; but can God descend into the realm of mortals – in other words, can God speak to you?!

And the answer of course is – as surprising as it may seem – if God cannot, then you are limiting God and if you are limiting God he is no God.

For true infinity can bridge the gap, not needing to take man up, rather having the ability to descend right into our world.

And this is the true messianic era.

We often think the messiah is about revealing God in some kind of apocalyptic revelation, that transforms natural experience.

However the Rambam teaches us, it can be that the world will initially continue exactly as it is, yet the messiah will be here!

Considering the Rebbe has told us unequivocally the messiah has come, this is what it means:

The essence of the messianic era is not in removing man from the physical to the spiritual, rather uniquely merging the spiritual into the physical!

Evidence that this era has begun is all around us – from heightened spirituality around the world, when at the same time, all the narcissistic pleasures are more available than ever before – from many people believing God is probably communicating and in general people feeling that they have a personal, as opposed to, impersonal relationship with God.
