The infinite in the finite, now thats an equation!

By zevi770 · February 6, 2012

All mathematical equations are limited.

1+1=2 is true within a universe where there are separate things that you can limit.

In a universe where there is no separation, math has no application, rather it is like a state of being.

So the big question is, can the infinite singular God, enter into the multifaceted, multiracial, multicultural universe?

It would seem as if these two realities cannot coexist.

Of course, on a logical intuitive side, it would make sense; for if God can create the divisions, he certainly can communicate and unite them.

This is in effect what is called Daas Elyoin and Daas Tachtoin.

Daas Elyoin is seeing things from the Creator’s perspective while Daas Tachtoin is being limited by the limitations of the limits our limited reality limits us into perceiving.

Kapish?

Limits vs. Unlimited; can they coexist?

So from our perspective, No.

But from the perceptive of the Creator, like a computer programmer, the very notion of limits isn’t limits because how can limits that you created actually be limiting.

That would be like saying, if you have infinite abilities and you make a car that goes at 60, that car cannot go more than sixty, well with infinite abilities that car can go the speed of light if you so choose, and even faster, for even the speed of light is a limit you created.

So can God like a ray of light penetrate the darkness?

Obviously intuitively, yes.

This is one of the fundamental Jewish beliefs, in the thirteen principles of faith – that God speaks to man.

Sounds impossible? why or how can, and would, God speak to a mortal human being.

All of us seem to have no problem believing that God speaks to the greatest prophet of all times Mosses.

Partially, because it is logically impossible to imagine that Mosses could perform the miracles he did without God speaking to him.

But can God speak to you?

Nah?

Me?

No way?

The answer is, that it is just as easy for God to speak to you, as it is for him to speak to Mosses!

In fact, the Lubavitcher Rebbe teaches us, God is always speaking to us, it’s just that like a radio playing ten channels at once, we are unable to decipher which station is Gods’.

To rectify this, God in his usual ingenuous, has come up with a solution.

Once in a while a voice pops in your head which is your own voice but not your own thought, and that voice gives you instructions.

For example, my friend Michael Bloch tells me how on his way to work God will tell him “take the camera” and he has no idea why he should taka the camera, but the camera is needed.

Now could a simple instruction like, take the camera, be God?

Obviously not, you may think?

How and why, can, and would, God speak to Michal Bloch about taking the camera to work; so apart from the simple reason to prove himself (as he did to the Jews through miracles in Egypt,) but additionally to limit God to spiritual matters and to not allow him to advise us in our physical needs is to limit the unlimited, for the unlimited is not limited, neither to spiritual nor to physical, only to goodness itself.
