The identifier, the worrier, and God

By zevi770 · January 23, 2014

As children, we are born to love

In fact a lot of research has been done by neurosurgeons that children are very compassionate, but seem to unfortunately lose it, at about the age of six

The reason for this is simple, we naturally extend love to everyone

It is very clear how this process works

When we are loved, we love in return

But what happens, when we get into a state of fear

Our heart cannot hold opposing views about the same stimuli, you either love / are attracted to it, or fear / recoil from it

Hence if a person’s parents, teachers, society, is malicious (which comes from jealousy) then people become worriers

As such, they tend to analyze and trade

Instead of unconditionally identifying, hence loving, they are actually busy judging all situations, for their fear causes a primary reaction to keep safe

We cannot both love and fear

What to do? what to do?

There is a third option, that of Jacob, to become God

How do you become God?!?

As the Alter Rebbe clarifies in Tanya, God is like an energy, if you use his wisdom, you become him!

(For example, if you somehow take a blue flame and you light a candle, the second candle that holds the blue flame, is the blue flame; just in another location.)

So when we give up our personal loves and fears, for a higher purpose
