The highest in the lowest, now that’s what I call a match made in Heaven

A drunken man was walking into his home after too many drinks at the pub – knowing the welcome he would get, he wobbly made his way through his backyard to secretly come in through the backdoor.

His sister-in-law noticing in the dark the siluoteh of a drunkard called out “what in the dev-il has gotten you?”

“Too many drinks” replied he.

“So why are you coming into this home” she enquired.

“TO WALK THE PLANK.”

True unity involves a critical factor we often overlook, namely like glue that has a unique effect on both objects it binds together, God being the essence of all things and all things dependent upon his essence for their existence is the magic glue that can unite otherwise separate entities.

We say – and sing – God makes peace in the heavens, so may he make peace on earth – for whenever differences of opinion arise there is bound to be differences between hearts.

But as I read in Kabbalah, as the angels are fully cognizant of their essence and their purpose, they see themselves not in competition, though they have difference as far as fire and water in how they should best serve God (depending on which side / camp they are fashioned into) for they know that fundamentally peace is the aim.

Hence we read that they first give one another the privilege to praise God – considering this is their main pleasure – it would be analogous to one of us giving up status for another.

For humanity to unite a similar process occurs – one, the realization of our essential being being God, and hence our similarity to every other creation of God, certainly people (and fellow Jews in particular) but perhaps even more so our fundamental recognition that this is His aim – namely unity and harmony.
