Ego – crazy thing, we all have it, but none of it is recognizable
Just like hunger, it’s part of our makeup; but we acknowledge it
Ego is part of our makeup, but we don’t
The Baal Shem Tov gives an example for ego, like a person who falls asleep in a wagon and unbeknown to him the wagon driver drives to a higher plateau and the man wakes up, so he is not even aware of his sense of superiority
