The greatest gift God has caused is in fact the gift of death

By zevi770 · June 19, 2012

I have always wondered why we thank God “who created death and then life,” in Shemoinah Esrie (one of our foremost prayers?)

Wouldn’t it be better for thanking him, for creating life?

Ah…

This is really deep!

There are two kinds of lifes!

There is biologically being alive – a life governed by instinctual drives!

And then, there is spiritually being, a living being!

In other words, to be spiritually alive one is filled with a purpose, a higher calling!

Now for the first kind of life, being dead has grave implications to say the least.

But for being spiritually alive, death is the greatest thing that can happen.

You see the soul never dies!

Rather it sheds its previous perceptions of reality and enters to ever greater perceptions!!!
