The great folly of humanity

“I created man straight, but he seeks crooked desires”:

One of the fundamental ideas of the Baal Shem Tov, which very much  is rooted in the way democracy thinks, is, that we are not born evil, but pure as snow, fresh as linen, tremendously beautiful!

Of course, the great question of life is, what is beauty?

As the Alter Rebbe describes it – beauty is when differences, like different colors coalesce (for hardly would you look at a piece of paper of one color and call it beautiful – in fact, the more colors, the more beautiful!)

Fundamentally life is very simple and this seen in the desire of a child – a child wants to have friends.
