We often segregate life: the good, the bad or the evil.
The truth is that everything (besides God of course,) falls into the good bad or evil based on our usage of the object.
Money is the root of all evil.
Is it?
No!
In fact in Judaism, money is the root of all blessings, goodness, kindness through giving it away.
Money is a perfect example, if you give it away, it is good, if you just keep it for yourself, it is bad, if you allow it to make you arrogant, it is evil.
The Torah itself falls into these three categories, as our sages teach in Kiddushin (if I recall correctly,) if it makes you a better person, it is good, if it is just studied selfishly cause you enjoy the study (say you enjoy the logic of Talmud,) then is bad, but if it makes you arrogant then as the Talmud itself calls it, it is a poison of death.
