We get help from where we think we will get help from
The Jews in ancient Persia were sold out by King Achashveiroish for they feared him enough to go to his idolatrous meal.
Did they deserve annihilation for this sin, God forbid!
But the way the trust system = you get help from where you think help comes from
One of the ways we can perceive that despite the fact that things clothe themselves in cause and effect that the cause is not the effect, is from what he teaches.
If we truly analyze the cause, it doesn’t have the ability to create the effect.
For example he says, take a grain, a kernel of wheat, does it have the power to grow a stalk, which then can grow so many more stalks, so from one seed you can get thousands of kernels?!
Similarly in life, we think a. has the power to help me – this is based on a childhood perception of the all powerful father or mother figure.
In truth a. himself needs a million other people to help him.
Our sages teach us, that every person’s livelihood is literally as miraculous as the splitting of the sea.
Think – even for a wealthy diamond dealer, how many many people there must be, and correct market conditions, desire for diamonds, mining of diamonds and countless other factors not in his control, for one man to be able to make money off diamonds.
Living here in South Africa where selling diamonds is common place I can tell you each and every diamond dealer is another miracle and the wealthier they are the greater the miracle.
