The fundamental premises

We all have fundamental premises upon which we base our worldview

But groups, ideologies, also have fundamental premises – a man once wrote to the Rebbe complaining about religious Jews, true the Rebbe said, they are not perfect, but those who are not religious are even worse

The fundamental premises is a fascinating concept

This will not make many people happy, but I am not running for office, only for truth, so here goes

Lubavitch fundamental premises are based on a book called Tanya, although it is very very lengthy, a number of fundamental premises are, as in all orthodox Jews, the centrality of Torah, God as he comes through the Torah, hence, an absolute adherence to the Mitzvos

Reform, there is obviously a difference between reform and reform Jews – having studied at Yale together with a reform rabbi, their fundamental premise is that there is no fundamental premise, or rather every rabbi gets to make up the fundamental premises – this comes from their books given to me by the reform rabbi – however, the fundamental premise of reform Jews ironically is that there is no such thing as reform, for they consider themselves Jewish based on their Jewish mothers (reform considers Jewish based on father too) in other words, they consider the fundamental premises of Judaism, as to what constitutes Judaism; but they are westernized, hence reject what they see to be archaic modes of religious practice, so fundamentally, they are good Jews, but lacking truth about Judaism, and the same applies to conservative as well as unaffiliated Jews

Christians, I don’t know enough, but from the little I understand, well I don’t want to write on that which I don’t understand

Islam seems, that the fundamental premise is, if you believe in Mohamed and follow his way – especially if you die for jihad – the paradise rewards will be valuable and you’ll burn in hell if you don’t
