The fundamental error we all make, is the tower of Babel

There are two kinds of societies.
Tribal (much of Africa, all of Arabia and I am sure some others, though I don’t know) a tribal society is ruled by abuse – the chieftain lords over his tribe without personal regard – the members follow him, for if not they will be literally tortured (which goes on in Arabic states) Likewise, they have a zero sum game – in other words, they see the world as a fight – if they can steal (as the Bible says about Yishmoel “his hand will be in everyones … a wild man”) they see it not as theft, rather conquest.
Then there are societies that are civilized.
But the civilized societies, namely ruled by universal laws that make all people equal (at least under the law) have the tower of Babel problem.
Before the flood, people were tribal.
After the flood, they realized we must collaborate (positive sum game).
However, just because we are collaborating, means not that we have the foggiest direction!
The natural tendency as we see from all empires, be it Rome, Persia, Greece, Babylonia, Egypt, the generation of the tower of Babel, and in a more subtle ways (for in the current democratic mentality, ostentation is more subtle) amongst nations today – the striving: to be well-known.
This of course comes from the individual ego.
A true excersize in madness!
