the Rebbe says that whenever there is a disagreement one must get to the core of it
Ironically, though the Republicans are branded by liberals as the party of hate with the evil-one saying in speech, “Why do you hate so much?!” the truth is that one sees in another one’s own subconscious demons.
For though politics in general as my good friend Dr. Fasbinder says is comprised of two words – “poli” which means many and “ticks” : ) in absolute truth there is a subtle subconscious difference.
At the heart of the democratic party which always was an elitist platform (it was pro-slavery etc.) is self-interest.
At the heart of the Republican party (which was anti-slavery) though far from perfect is the recognition of the importance of values.
The trouble is that we as the electorate have a tendency to elect democrats when we are not faced with existential threats – this is why they do radical things to boost the economy from encouraging the housing bubble to practically negative interest rating – for they know that as long as we are fat and stupid….
