The first Beis Hamikdosh lasted for 410 years – the second for – 420; this is hinted to in the words casis ( which has both numbers) – we know casis also means crushed, for it is the ensuing darkness following the destruction of each that allows us to reach – For we call upon our deepest strengths not when we are surrounded by love rather by hate – and in the ensuing cognition that God alone is our sole Savior we enter into an intimate and infinite everlasting relationship (and as the nature of all true relationships, we continuously have moments of connection and apartness, for as God is infinite, every cycle creates infinite growth)
