The final talk the Rebbe gave on this week’s Parsha, he said a truly remarkable lesson – why is it that as the month progresses the moon diminishes? – the reason is, the moon progresses as it travels away from her husband (for the reflection of sunlight begins on the first of the month and progresses till the 15th) but as she gets closer to her husband, representing the soul to God, due to the awe, she becomes humbled – however the fact that her own light is diminished, does not mean that her husband’s love is not increasing – it is in those very moments when we feel God’s distance, that in point of fact he is drawing us to the truest infinite ultimate messianic unification
