The factors that cause goodness

Often perception is, that right and wrong are simply a matter of choice, however the truth is, as Rash”i says, when life is good, people are good, and conversely, when life is bad, people become jealous.

For example, the Rambam says that when Moshiach comes, because life will be good for everyone, hence there will be no jealousy, so without jealousy there will be no more wars, strife!

In other words, to be accurate, there are factors which bring out the best in us and here they are:

1. Know you and God are one and the same, for God creates your soul and like two flames merging into one, his and yours, you are one and the same!

2. Life is good – certainly today in the messianic era, never before have humans had more freedom, better health care, better human rights – certainly as Jews, disproportionately to what even just a few decades ago, with Russia subjegating millions of Jews and before anti-semitism was rife for thousands of years.

3. Though life is physically good, spiritually it is designed and it is continuously a challenge, but the challenge too, is good; for it brings out the best in us, not allowing us to live empty meaningless lives!
