The different mindsets – Rabbi Groner would often say, you need to understand a person’s headspace – we all have different minds- our mind in truth is exactly like a computer, it has an amazing ability to be creative (which in essence is to consider mechanisms to advance your/my desires) so to undestand different minds you must understand the different desires that exist – as usual kabbalah sums it up – when we are humble our inquisitive mind works (this is why children are such great learners) when an emotion (a drive for a particular stimuli for example, testosterone or estrogen, hunger, fear drugs (for effectivity we are all both addicts and neurotic, it is only a question if a pleasure strong enough (drugs) or a pain, fearful enough manifested) and finally we have the horrific state of ego ( for when for whatever reason we have become deluded into grandeur (sensing or profound profundity) we now likewise become intolerant, so whereas a humble person doesn’t expect, as his sense of insignificance makes him unentitled, an arrogant person feels that everything belongs to him, so anything he doesn’t get and anyone who has what he wants arouses his anger or jealous ire)
