The difference between the honor one receives from a conman and a Rebbe or good friend is simple – the conman is pretending to honor you as he wants something from you and the moment he gets it, you will be dumped in the garbage (if you are lucky,) but the Rebbe or your friend genuinely sees your goodness and his honor is genuine respect
