once upon a time someone had an idea – be it a religion, a philosophy, no better example than the Pythagoreans cult which ostensibly was a group based on math – but these ideas become obsessions

 

you see, what happens in a human is we are a composite, a mind searching for truth, a heart searching for pleasure and no pain, and an ego searching for grandeur

 

so as the mind seeks truth, the heart seeks pleasure, and the ego seeks recognition

 

now just like the heart is focusing on say pleasurable food, the ego is focusing on anything that can contribute to my perception of greatness

 

hence, instead of allowing the mind to be objective; whenever we find something in which we can take credit, we begin to take pride; hence, a religion becomes an identity; a mathematical equation becomes a cult, to the extent of murdering someone who found something wrong in the equation

 

the same holds true in the Muslim world (not all but perhaps most) where religion has not advanced – unlike in much of the Cristian world where religion is people searching for truth, in the Muslim tyrannical non-free world, it is people coerced into a belief system, as such, the current Imams are like the olden day Priests, fomenting hate for in their view, their faith is challenged by anyone elses
