the day my heart was put back together

I am sure you can remember the day your heart went like humpty-dumpty “and all the king horses and all the kings men..” – well, you never were the same

The truth is, our heart is at the center of our world – how we are, ALWAYS FEELING!

Now the truth of the matter is, that God first gives us a loving-heart (which is a reaction to love received (which is why, if God-forbid, a child does not receive love, they are basically a zombie, as seen in Russian orphanages.))

Reactions are never great – for though it can be positive, in the case of love a. it is not discerning (hence children may trust all) b. it can just as easily, well, go like humpty-dumpty, when instead of receiving love you receive malicious hate.

Why is love so joyful? – apart from the fact that we are by nature social-creatures, I hypothesize, that there is a deeper reality – half the battle of life is not joy, but not being in pain – Now perhaps there is no worse pain than anxiety- for a temporary stab may hurt, but fearing (anything) continuously, creates high blood pressure and totally affects our psyche (certainly preventing pleasure) – When we feel loved, we also feel secure (which is why dependents do much to be lovable.)

BTW this is why it is critical for those in positions of influence to express love, as the bumper sticker, “I don’t need a lot of love just steady drips” (for the drips are the constant security reminders.)
But when a person believes that another’s hate is unwarranted, undeserved and vicious, it creates a profound sense of loss – not so much over that particular loss, but over not feeling secure – for example, if God-forbid a person walks down the street and a person God-forbid steps on a land mind – you can be sure that they will never ever walk down the street with true confidence – that fear will always linger.

But what if you can dichotomize  – what if the same person who hates, is the same person who loves?! – what if hate is like a person who caught a disease?

This is the great discovery of Chassidus – which is empirically true! – we are all love! – it’s just that fear – resentment – jealousy – hate – hence rationalization – bullying, can interfere – But if you can overcome your fear, then you can live in truth.
