The Conclusions of an Infinite God

By zevi770 · March 29, 2013

Yesterday we wrote about the difference between seeing an infinite versus limited God

Today we write about The Conclusions of an Infinite God!

In other words:

When we realize God is infinite, an amazing change in our perception of God’s interaction with us unfolds!

To begin with, let me share a story I heard from the person who it happened to:

Rabbi Avrohom as a young man once asked the Lubavitcher Rebbe, our great master teacher and guide – “I find it hard to believe the Chassidic interpretation that God supervises personally every detail of creation (in other words, does he really personally want to see how a blade of grass or a worm at the bottom of the ocean is doing?)” To which the Rebbe replied “I find it hard to believe otherwise! – you see, if a person creates a factory, he certainly wants to know what’s going on; but the larger the factory gets, the more limited his supervision skills; hence, he needs to hire managers, foremen etc. etc. but if he could, he certainly would supervise everything! – and because God can, certainly he does!!”

So we see, how we anthropomorphize! – we fail to appreciate the infinity of God’s ability – infinite ability is not more ability than us, rather, it is an infinite ability, with no end or limit – a good example of course is from a computer, whose infinite ability to do math allows it to literally allow tens of thousands of people network into a single CPU that has the “mind” to be able to process all the literally trillions of mathematical equations per second necessary to fulfill all the quests the users have!
