The bottom line is, that every group has a highest ideal – whether we like to admit it or not, the highest ideal in Islam is jihad – and in jihad, to be “martyred” for the sake of Allah, as this opens up all the portals of heaven in their view – I am not sure what’s the highest ideal in Christianity – in Buddhism, it’s some kind of nirvana state – but for the purpose of this blog: in Judaism, our highest ideal is quite simply, “obey happily God” for in humility we have morality.
