The big picture

The truth is, we can either live primarily for ourselves, say what gives us pleasure, or recede from fearful situations.
Or we can live primarily for God, meaning, giving etc. etc.
What’s the difference? for however you cut it, we have needs, such as eating, that gives us pleasure and spiritual needs such as giving? but the difference is in the details; for if our essence is, say goodness and kindness, and pleasure is a bonus, when the choice between the two arrives, we choose goodness and kindness!
