The Baal Shem Tov has an amazing teaching, namely that the opposite of love is lust – the opposite of God, is idolatry which we can also say is the ego’s desire to get its way – and the opposite of self-discipline is murder – if we keep in mind that these emotions are two sides of the same coin – we shall make sure we’re on the right side
