Chapter 11
In this chapter the Alter Rebbe summarizes the two levels of the completely wicked and only partially wicked person.
In brief – the completely wicked person is one whose animal desires have so become an intrinsic part of him that like a psychopath he feels no remorse, this is in fact why there is evil in our world.
For there is another level of wicked – this is a person who like all people have, lets say an instinct to get angry and take revenge, so after being insulted may say something harsh, however as his Divine soul is still very much active, he later feels regret.
Now there are many levels, such as a person who not only feels regret but repents (asks for pardon etc.) but they all have in common the fact that the Divine soul still plays a conscious part.
