Rabbi Zevi Wineberg Publishes “G-d’s Guide To Managing Self, Relationships And Health”
In this short 32 pages of succinct inspirational but highly practical advice we find three focuses.
Managing self, relationships and health.
Of-course all three are at the heart of being a happy healthy individual.
In managing Self, Rabbi Wineberg first goes into who we are – all people are actually a composite of five spirits / souls / drives – the first is G-d, who is what we call our Divine soul – the second (which makes us uniquely human) an independent mind (capable of both controlling and creating desires) – the third is called the animal soul (the instinct both for survival and the pleasure vs. pain instinct) the fourth is called the ego (essentially it is the “soul” of the animal soul. You need to both believe you exist and want your existence to have any self-drive. The ego can be an awesome positive or negative – like gas, it all depends on where you drive to.) And 5, finally we have an evil demon called the Yetzer Hara who continually seeks – very devishly to divert us from our Divine soul and higher self (this is really how people unfortunately can become debased and evil.)
The key thing in life is to first and foremost know who you are (for all our behavior follows our identity.) The identity we must (and fortunate is the person who does) hold, is that “I am a Divine Soul sent into this world to Serve The Creator, thereby making myself and the world better.”
In this booklet, tips on understanding techniques how to combat the evil wiles of the Yetzer Hara, collected mainly from Tanya (the Bible of Jewish mysticism) are shared.
Finally we live in an age where a bizarre nefarious radical assault on human dignity and identity is taking place – understanding that we don’t need to be the same, to be special, nor obviously feel superior… rather realize – as Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi and the Holy Ari teach us – each person has both a unique role, amid the general whole, in Go-ds infinitely intricate and beautiful destiny!
By embracing our particular G-d given role, we realize that we both have a special part to play amid the general whole – and we need not feel low (for not being someone else – which many of these counter culture radical ideas seem to be indicating.) Finally Preventive Care – amazingly the CDC is saying that up to 70% of incidents of strokes, heart-attack and others are preventable though healthy eating – hence a collection of practical research… and finally tips from Jewish mysticism how to destress (seems to be a major negative to both mental and physical heath…) are suggested.
