1. The Divine Soul
The Divine Soul has like all souls two primary drives: forward and reverse.
The toward drive of the Divine soul is to G-d and the reverse, is away from separation from God.
2. The Animal Soul
The Animal Soul like all souls has two directions, forward and reverse.
However the animal soul has four subcategories:
Air: Toward having fun and away from boring.
Fire: Toward being the best, greatest, most recognized, and away from being lower, shamed, demeaned (which is also where anger comes from.)
Earth: Toward doing nothing (laziness) and depression, and away from work and energy.
Water: Toward anything that feels pleasurable (be it music, food, obviously intercourse, drugs, even intellectual discoveries) and away from anything painful.
3. The Mind: We also have an independent observer, the mind.
Like all souls, it has a toward and away from.
It goes toward logic, and away from chaos, disorder.
