So you want the truth – well I am just giving you want you want

The truth is simple – as all of history which is a pretty good indication and the only one in any event, proves – a human being is a composite of two distinct souls, forces, drives.
The first is called the animal – selfish and driven very much by ego and the desire for sex – we see it is instinctive by the fact that before the hormones for sex kick in, children could care less (furthermore, psychologists say, the only time a man is truthful, is right after ejaculation, as will be discussed.)
The other side to us, is noble, it is our mind – driven by quest for truth, filled with virtues and the ability to even give up our lives to help another.
The problem is, that these two drives are mutually antagonistic.
The problem is far deeper, as we have one mind, so whichever drive is stronger wins – So it is not that the person who gets angry isn’t also a person who gives charity – In fact, Reish Lakish who formerly was the gang leader of a group of Jewish thieves and later became a great Rabbi said, “Even the worthless of Jews are filled with many acts of goodness and kindness” – rather, if I am in the throes of passion, my mind becomes the slave to the greatest passion.
Ironically, this is not only a problem when my passions are negative but even when they are positive – so much violence, hatred and intolerance has been in the name of religions – it is going on as we speak, as hundreds of millions of Muslims (a conservative figure) have convinced themselves, that to kill you would be a great service.
You see, whenever passion enters the mind – objective rational calm assessment, in which all factors are equally considered – is eliminated.
So where is the real truth? – only because you asked! – the only way you can overcome your irrational passions is by submission.
Yes by their elimination – so the very first step to God is the elimination of self.
As Kabbalah teaches, you must despise yourself; only think of everything despicable you have ever done!
Now before you take the next move, instead on relying on that despicable self, simply ask God – and the first through that will come to your mind will be his personal answer.
