For behind all actions is a motive, understanding the actions without understanding the motives is like looking at a car and not understanding, it’s meant to drive people places.

God’s motive in creating us is simple; God is singular perfection, but there is a perfection beyond singularity, for just as all single people desire a relationship, God too desires a relationship.

We are the wife, God is the husband.

God gives us everything we need to live, but that itself is not the basis of a real relationship, a real relationship is when one accepts the spiritual direction of the husband, the husband becomes the leader, the moral guidance; similarly, our relationship with God doesn’t end with what he physically provides, in fact, that is but the stage on which the relationship unfolds – it is what creates the other whom God can relate to as an “equal” – now that we exist, with all our needs; as we seek truth, and God reveals himself – his truths to us, we marry!
