Self Respect

By zevi770 · April 26, 2013

I must confess, though I am Jewish, but to share what can be of benefit, confessions are good – I seek not absolvement, rather to educate – my life was always a happy one, thank-God, I seem to have either had great parents, a lucky childhood or both – but to make a long story short, once I got successful in communal affairs, the ugly head of jealousy raired, and a proficient psycho got to get me miserable enough to resign my position and move on – trouble is, that not getting into anything new caused me to lose self respect and then perhaps coupled with general anger, resentment over the injustice, I realized, that, though I never found fault in anyone, I now saw faults in everyone – years passed and a new reality set, one in which I got involved in feeding the poor which lifted my self respect and a strong belief in the coming of Moshiach which made me happy – now suddenly those faults I saw very clearly, I don’t see anymore

So the question is, did I see faults? the faults I saw – were they real? or imagined?

And the point that I realized, which is a very very important one, is this – our minds are the slave of our passion – hence a person doesn’t see – is perhaps incapable of seeing, the truth – for imagine a car with three steering wheels, but one has dominance over the other, so the direction one will head in, will be the dominant one, though perhaps somewhat reluctantly.

Similarly, when jealousy, anger kicks in, it eliminates our love, our compassion, and hence the mind produces the mechanism – it’s primary function, in which one is enabled – shown the path, to achieve ones desires.

In other words, being critical is not the result of trying to perfect the world, rather being critical is the result of jealousy – when one perceives that, I am unhappy and you look happy! Sent via my BlackBerry from Vodacom – let your email find you!
