Respect – is respect something you need to earn – the truth is simple, if respect is something you need to earn then it is not respect rather reverence – this reverence can be for something that crowns the person – fame – fortune – even a miracle-worker – but respect is the fact you have been chosen – and it is this simple difference that lies at the heart of all of humanities woes and successes – you see if fundamentally we know we are good we will fulfill our goodness (perhaps this is why Jews are so successful, for their parents not only wanted them for their respect but intrinsically respected them)
