Respect it’s a funny thing

Freud writes how before marriage a man may respect but after cohabitation may not.

What is the Jewish view?

The fact is that Freud was a bit obsessed about this subject but he certainly had a lot of insight (I have read a lot of his works which is why I can comment on it.)

The bottom line is this, our sages teach us (not that I am the role model but hey if I figure something out, far be it from me to withhold it from you, who may be wiser than me in action etc.):

Honor – Respect – Revere Your Wives, In Order For G-d To Give You Respect and Honor Through Making You Wealthy etc.
