Reality believe it or not, is always progressing

First came Adam, in the Garden of Eden which was not the true birth of mankind…
You see, this was a temporary state, it didn’t even last more than a few hours (as he was created before Shabbos and the sin occurred before the first Shabbos.)
Without going into the Kabbalah, why the world begins in light, not in darkness; nonetheless, the real world, our world begins really in the behavior of mankind after Adam is banished from the Garden of Eden; having imbibed the tree of knowledge, namely, when evil desires, tendencies, dominated humankind, to the extent that rape, murder, thievery is so apparent, God feels that the whole world is worthless and save for Noah and his three sons and daughters-in-law wipes out the whole entire human and animal population.
A certain new reality set into human consciousness, that of the Almighty power of God.
Hence though the children of Noah have had a strong blow to their psyche, it’s not to say their ego has truly been eradicated – as they try to build a tower to the sky to make themselves immortal!
However, fulfilling God’s promise to never wipe out again humanity he scatters mankind to the furthest reaches of earth and pockets of backward men start to develop.
Mainly civilization begins in Ur in Mesopotamia which Abraham is born, his father being an important idol-dealer and this one boy through his keen ability to understand nature correctly summarizes that all is truly driven by a singular force whom he begins to worship.
Eventually this force bids him to leave his family, his birthplace and begin in a new land.
The notion of the Jew, the perpetual wanderer, the individual who sets God above comfort, ideals above common practice, has entered the world.
And as light has entered, similarly jealousy of light by those whose lives are based on false Gods, namely, pretense and idolatry, cruelty and rape etc. begin to take pot-shots, hence in Egypt the Jews are enslaved.
And then the seminal moment of human density, the revelation of the Torah, the combination of Divinity within our reality takes place.
Now two separate tracks play out, the Jewish and gentile, ultimately leading to our messianic era.
The first track of the Jews, plays out in Israel, where on the whole, the Jews learn mainly the hard way that God is true, and his ways are not really a multiple choice but the only choice!
Coupled with their story, the nations of the world are still steeped in ego, barbarism and cannibalism.
And then, the beginning of the messianic process, the merger of Rome and Jerusalem, through ironically, the destruction of the holy temple and the diaspora begins.
For though quite inimical to human nature (as we love that all should merge into a melting pot of the common culture) a unique culture within culture, the Jews are found within every part of the globe.
And the gentiles themselves cannot help but see, that justice is the right way.
It is in our era, when the role modeling of the Jews, coupled with the repulsion of gentiles at their own barbarity, has reached the tipping point.
As an example; the respect, admiration as well as fascination with the Jews among all good gentiles the world over.
