Nasoi Likuite Torah

Nasoi Es Rosh

  1. The reason the Jews had to go through the desert is the desert is symbolic of the source of evil – the difference between good and evil – for all good comes from good – love, and the reason love loves, is because love is humble, like Abraham (who was a primary giver, said) “I am but dust and ashes;” so someone who holds himself in low self-esteem, looks at others with respect (but someone who holds themselves arrogantly as superior, can only think how the world is only for themselves.)

So the Jews going through the desert humbled arrogance, preparing for the messianic era, when the infinity of God will be revealed (even though one may wonder, how can God’s infinity be revealed, but from the perspective of the Creator anything is possible; we rather have to have the humility.)

  • In order to receive God, our heart must be free from materialistic instinctual attraction – the Yezter Hara is an expert at slowly but surely corrupting us (he starts with a small desire then magnifies it and then we are in his journey : (

To go in the path of God, we must stop the path of predilection – we do this by a. stop desiring foolish pursuits – b. we then desire exclusively to love and follow God.
  • In order to arouse our love for God in prayer we speak about the angels devotion to God and then we have the meditation of Shema (that all is one) that our entire universe, its 50,000 X 50,000 year, cycles…. everything in it – all of heaven, all of earth, every plant, ameba, angels etc. ALL, God simultaneously imagined in single thought – and even this thought much like a human thought is not His essence (for it is the desire to think about something that creates the thought – and God’s desire was pure love-kindness.)

This is the lower level of awe of God, the higher comes only after we study much Torah.
