Pride vs. shame

In order to understand reality – humanity, it is impossible unless we understand pride vs. shame.
By nature we all desire that that which we love should be loved – this is the essence of pride – because I love myself – a feeling I have developed in early childhood when I felt that everything I desire gets catered for (not realizing this catering is not my cries rather compassion, but be that as it may) so now that I love myself I wish for all to hold me in high regard.
However there is a super-evil side to reality – and that is the reverse, when I despise myself – Basically this is depression – however there are two forms – the first is not that I blame another, rather depression comes from feeling trapped, so now that I cannot help myself, for the same reason I previously loved myself, I now hate myself (I am trapping myself… – if one believes in God they don’t get depressed as they don’t attribute their own self as their own master).
When I blame someone else for my misery, then not only am I depressed, I am also angry – like any emotion (for example addiction) it has a powerful hold – it drives us toward its fulfillment (so like addiction is for a drug) anger is to destroy! (take revenge) The trouble is that usually my anger will not be fulfilled – so now I am not only depressed, I am both depressed, angry, and because we get jealous of the good others have (when we also feel entitled to it) I am also jealous – the function of jealousy like anger is to “take revenge”, destroy the joy of those who are happy – hence I become a bully, and this process succinctly describes terrorists, antisemitism, black (and white radicals), people who are a. depressed (from shame) b. angry c. jealous
