Perhaps to paraphrase Einstein, no greater problem exists, than confusing ends and means

By zevi770 · October 18, 2013

When we confuse the two, instead of people making money to help the poor, they make money for status

Instead of love is lust

Instead of changing the world, fame at all cost is pursued

Ok you get the problem – but what’s the solution?!

Here is the true summary of what is the end goal and what are the means:

God is one, his end goal is, as the most famous declaration of the Jewish credo Shemah Yisroel stands for – unity!

Now unity only occurs when you have two diametrically opposite forces simultaneously converging.

Multiplicity uniting.

Hence unity, like the Baal Shem Tov teaches about relationships, is like a dance, in which people go in and out of a circle.

If you are always together you are not separate; if you are always separate, you are not together.

There are literally endless examples how these two forces govern all of our biological and ecologic universes.

But that is to digress

The point is, that God seeks unity, which is when different things unite under a single banner.
