Peaceful purpose

One of the great dichotomies in life, is the challenge to both live at peace and with purpose.

For example, the Rebbe once mentioned about the peace, in which is found in India, unfortunately also creates a laziness.

Kabbalah’s primary mechanism to live life, is how to combine these two opposing qualities, namely, internal peace and external purpose.

Ironically, they truly complement each other – though the drive for each stems from opposing directions, namely, contentment and discontent – for in truth, we are spiritual beings. and we only feel at peace when we also are at purpose

Simply speaking, Kabbalah teaches, two opposing emotions must be firmly lodged in our hearts (which is easy to do, for the way we create emotions is by meditating, cogitating, in simple English, thinking about something until an emotion for it is born; hence, we can easily create conflicting emotions, just as say, we like conflicting types of food, so I both like sweet foods as well as spicy foods) so first and foremost, we must be happy, we must know that God is good, the world has never been better, and when Moshiach comes, it will reach a level of joy that is quite literally unimaginable today! but secondly we must be pained that the world has suffering, the world has loneliness, the world has existential angst, and we must always bear in mind, that as God is infinite, there will always be something infinitely better in the future! (thus creating the subtle angst to get it!)
