Our goal is to take what we know to be true and transform that into what we WANT to know to be true!

In other words, we may actually develop addictions that can literally kill us – now we know that these addictions will kill us – but we don’t want to know that.

There is a Ping-Pong match between our heart – desires; and mind – rational knowledge.

Now if I know that drugs (God forbid) will kill me, it doesn’t mean I will stop taking drugs, the reason is, because I don’t want to know that, it is just information I have been made aware of.

This is why most addicts will actually kill themselves.

If you give cocaine to cows they keep at it until they die of starvation.

The emotion, the desire in a person, and animal is for pleasure, so what I want to know is “that it is good for me to take drugs.”

It is for this reason, addicts find every excuse in the books, in their own minds, to permit themselves to take drugs.

Now the very same person who is literally killing himself, if you asked him “would you take these drugs if they would kill someone you love?” probably wouldn’t!

It is that for themselves, their addiction to pleasure supersedes their rather minute self love.
