One which is many

The Baal Shem Tov teaches, Jews resemble God like Isaac / Yitzchok resembled Abraham / Avraham.

Just as son’s (or daughter’s to her mothers) face may often be exactly like their fathers similarly we Jews reflect God.

Just as God is kind, merciful so to these are the hearts, character, characteristics, the very DNA of the Jewish people.

Now I have often tried to reconcile the notion that who we truly are, is God, with the reality our feeble minds may understand and whamo! the following hit me (also deduced from a book about the nature of our Divine soul.)

You see a child in the cot may appear just like the father sharing the very DNA, yet the difference is merely in ability.

In other words, the child and the father are one and the same (particularly as we refer to spiritual concepts such as unconditional love etc. mercy, which like 1+1 = 2 IS THE VERY SAME NOTION regardless of its physical location much like the software package you download is the very same package another downloads albeit hosted in a different computer) so the difference is merely in ability.

Perhaps computers can give us a good example, for the speed – processing power of a computer defines the usefulness of the very same software package.

In the olden days there was a turbo button one would press on a computer to speed it up, so the motorcycle and the plane are both methods of transportation one faster than the other and of course the same is true of cars that are simply faster then one another.

This being the case one can have the very same thing, just with a different processing power, one infinite, one limited by the confines of time space perception, and nonetheless the core is truly the same thing.
