One of the most heartwarming, heartrending and inspiring prayers, composed by Rabbi Akivah, is Avinu Malkienu – Our Father, Our King!

These two names, represents, two dynamic relationships we have with God.

Our father, represents, in fact, our primary relationship: the notion, that God is not a king, but a loving father; dedicated to inspiring; beloved and loving; assisting and empowering; in this notion, God is like a tour guide, helping you assess reality.

Conversely, God can also be termed a king, and must be accepted by us as a king – for to grow, to go beyond our limitations – to not be limited by our infatuations (even spiritual ones;) to take our love and focus it like the miracle of a laser beam, to transform potential into potent positivity, we must realize, God is not only our father, he is also our master!

We wish you an easy and meaningful Yom Kippur!
