one of the greatest wisdoms I ever read was from Rashi, one of the primary commentators in a concise clear and easy language of most of the Bible, Talmud etc. he says "people think, that people think about them, as they think about the other" – for example, Arabs think we Jews want to kill them – had we wanted to kill them, we could have nuked them a long time ago
