Once again the Rebbe completely shatters all paradigms and introduces new paradigms on how to see our relationship with God.

To begin with, the Rebbe asks the obvious – why did the Jews need to go into exile?

Couldn’t a loving God, just create redemption?

Now I am expanding, but I believe the example I am giving, is true to the intent the Rebbe is teaching.

A relationship necessitates a period of separation, for hardly would brothers and sisters, allow for husband and wife.

Why?

In fact, wouldn’t those who share the closest connection, be the most appropriate spouse?

The answer is, that the very definition of marriage, must be with an other.

You can’t marry yourself!

So you must have first been separated – Kabbalistickly we actually believe husband and wife are one, but separated souls reuniting in marriage – hence, the distance is what makes the hearts grow fonder!

In other words, the period of exile, the wandering of the Jews, is not to God-forbid separate, rather to actually create the union.

Precisely through our feeling distant, precisely through our wandering for over two thousand years…

Hence, it is now, yes now, that – as the Rebbe emphasizes, that all the work for the messianic era has been completed! – so now, we have God’s ultimate intent, not that one should be one; rather, that two should live happily ever after – you and God – in your mind! in your heart! in this time space consciousness reality!
