Nothing is higher than pleasure and nothing lower than pain

By zevi770 · July 9, 2012

So states the foundational book of Kabbalah, written by Abraham called Sefer Yetzirah, The Book of Creation

Nothing is higher than pleasure, in other words, if you are happy, than there is no higher level that you can achieve!

But the trick of course is how to get out of pain.

Now according to Kabbalah there are two primary drives, pleasure and desire for lack of pain.

Now pleasure is obvious, but how does one get to lack of pain.

But this is the point, that desire is the very thing that creates pain, and lack of desire enables one to not have pain.

For all desires only create frustration! (over not fulfilling them.)

But if instead we can simply thank God for the pleasures that we have, we will always be happy and never in pain.
