Never forget, it is not our existence, that drives us; for on the whole, we take that for granted; it is our desires, and every desire is highly specified; and though we fool ourselves into seeing ourselves as good people – which the redeeming factor to that, is, at least we want to perceive ourselves as good! – in the end of the day, our desires are not good; for example, if somebody desires sex, then that is what they’re after; if someone desires drugs, then that is what they’re after; if someone desires money, then that is what they’re after; and it even extends to spiritual desires, communion with God, spiritual nirvana; then that is what their after! as you can see, all desires are really effectively selfish!
