Moshiach, is he really coming

The better question is – what is Moshiach and then we can see if he is really coming.
Most of us – myself included – so don’t feel bad 🙂 had an erroneous view of Moshiach.
Not to say our erroneous view wasn’t also correct.
In other words, as in everything God made, as the Kabbalah teaches, there are deeper dimensions to what meets the eye, and even deeper dimensions to that!
Like a Russian doll, there are layers of truth that go beyond what you see, revealing ever grander layers of reality, concealed previously.
Similarly, as the famous story of the woman who was told by her husband that Moshiach will save the Jews from the Cossacks by taking them to Israel, hence she replied, ask Moshiach to take the Cossacks to Israel.
Often Moshiach was seen as a balm to the physical woes of the Jewish people – not to underestimate that in any way shape or form.
But the question could be asked, what if I am living peacefully? I have a good job, in fact spiritually I am advancing, what if my life is both physically and spiritually great, do I still need Moshiach?
The answer to this may shock you, that perhaps you don’t; but you can’t be a good human being if you don’t desire Moshiach!
What is this concept of desiring a better future?!
The truth is, let us put our lives in the messianic times – so the Beis Hamikdosh (third holy temple) has been built, there is peace on the world, the messiah teaches us great mystical insights – now is your life complete? – is there anything you need to strive for?
And this is the point – humanity must strive!
To be good you cannot be complacent!
You must believe that beyond the horizon lies a pot of gold.
