Many years ago today after a fatal dual, a legislator enacted in the District of Columbia legislation Banning duals, which actually never really worked, until after the Civil War, and one must ask how insane must people be, literally have a gun duel?! and answer is that when our primary need is to protect our honor, which is based solely on a perception of Shame, so like somebody fleeing from a fire, is the person who feels the fear of shame thing, and therefore will do anything to never encounter, even to the point of giving their life
