Many of us wonder, how could the Rebbe say, we have begun the messianic era?

The truth is, if we understand what the messianic era is, we see the truth of the Rebbe’s statement! the messianic era is mainly the era in which humanity chooses God; we had the time when God chose us, but as this was HIS choice, forty days later, it was feasible to worship a golden calf! for that may have been where PEOPLE were holding! – now, specifically; the western world, having traversed four thousand years of physicality, of materialism, of adulation of the mind, we have comes to realize, all of it is crap; the only thing that is true and meaningful, is God!!!
